EB printing is attracting attention as a new printing method because of the features such as migration suppression (suppresses ink component penetration into the packaging), odor reduction, VOC suppression and compliance with environmental regulations.
The extremely high adhesion between the ink and the substrate also makes it applicable to surface printing, providing high-quality surface printing on soft flexible packagings for food and pharmaceutical products, which has been difficult to achieve before.
Hamamatsu Photonics provides low-energy electron beam sources called EB-ENGINE that instantly dry EB inks and other radical polymerization inks.
Online discussions with our engineers and sample evaluations using actual equipment are available upon customer request.
Compact and lightweight low-energy electron beam source EB-ENGINE for efficient drying of inks
Low-energy electron beam is more efficient in imparting energy to inks and so can instantly dry EB inks and other radical polymerization inks with minimal thermal damage to the substrate, allowing a wide range of substrates to be selected.
The electron beam source itself is compact and lightweight, making it easy to construct a printing press line or retrofit it onto an existing line.
